Hens |
Between 2005 and 2006 I kept five hens- Mother Jones, Cluck Box, Warhole, Van Winkle, and Houdini. Each hen laid an egg a day. Hens are very friendly once they get to know you, and they are not too demanding- just give them a safe home, feed them your food scraps and grain, open them early in the morning (letting them run and peck around, flap their wings, and climb about all day), and lock them away at night - and then they are happy. (Read an extract from my hen keeping diary) . |
