| For four days there was a live video link on the internet from my allotment. By typing an address into a web server you could watch what was going on on my plot, from anywhere in the world. Tom Allen made a computer program, and made some equipment to enable us to do this. Two satellites were placed in birds eye view of each other, one was placed up a tree on my plot, and the other in a house (with an internet connection) near my plot, a video camera was positioned on the plot. The camera picked up images from the allotment, transferred them to a computer (both were powered by a generator), the picture was then taken via the satellite connection to the satellite and computer and internet connection in the house near the allotment. Using a generator, reams of cable, the internet, computers, a camera, and technical know how a live connection was made. |
