Space on Earth Station

Equipped with a bedroom, lounge, kitchen, and shower, Space on Earth Station is a place for earth people to live. For five days the SOES Crew (Neal White, N55, Alex Lockett, Ian England & others) worked, slept, ate, socialized, and undertook research, in and around the Space Station. The Space Station was one piece of work in the exhibition 'Space Soon', at Camden Roundhouse Sept 2006. The Space Station will travel to Copenhagen.

A garden for a living system

The Space on Earth Station garden is located on the roof. The roof garden does not take up much space, the plants get lots of sunshine and rain, and the garden is easily accessible via the roof port holes. The majority of the plants are edible or medicinal- basil, chives, parsley, apple mint/ chocolate mint/ garden mint, rosemary, eucalyptus, lavender, and lemon balm.

Space on Earth Station transport

The bikes enabled us to travel around; this bike with a sidecar allows two people to travel together or it can be used to carry large/heavy loads. Our bike rides included a trip along Regents Canal- From Regents park to Little Venice, a trip to Hampstead Heath, and a trip to a local growers garden.
